Full course description

This training provides insight into what the typical roles and responsibilities are for instructional assistants starting with developing a foundational understanding of educating students with disabilities. Participants will review the essential responsibilities of an instructional assistant, and learn ways to establish relationships with students. The participants will deepen their understanding of the importance of the IA's role in special education in order to increase positive outcomes for students. This training is designed to take an hour total (30 minutes for videos and slides; 30 minutes for assignments outside of canvas). The assignments in this training require you to work with a cooperating teacher.
